Kevin Dempsey Distributors is a renowned Interior supplier to the Irish Market. Having worked with Eddie Shanahan, retail & style consultant on Brand Clonmel, we were brought in to design two new Corporate Identities for two new brands that KDD were launching. SLX is a mid-tier range of Interior products to be supplied in department stores throughout the country.
The concept for the brand is an extremely strong yet simplistic one. It provides an automatic sense of a durable, resilient brand, along with being accessible. It was important for these features to stand out in the Styleline Express logo.
The SLX is easy to read and uncomplicated. The ‘X’ was chosen not only because it is more aesthetically pleasing than an ‘E’ but also because it gives the prospective costumer the feeling of speed. ‘X’ means multiply. This therefore lets people know that the brand is speedy. However, customers like to know that if they are buying a non-complicated retrieved product, that the product is of good robust quality. This is depicted by the classic colours chosen and by the simple message that comes through the whole image. It looks stylish and strong.
